CodeRED Emergency Notification System
New: North Richland Hills' CodeRED system now provides free automated weather warnings just moments after a warning has been issued by the National Weather Service. To receive the automated
weather warnings, you will need to update your information with CodeRED. You will be asked which of the following warnings you would like to receive: tornado, severe thunderstorm, flash flood, winter storm. You will also be asked how you’d like to receive automated weather warnings: by phone call, email or text message.
The CodeRED system enables the city to deliver prerecorded emergency messages to targeted areas, by telephone, email and text message. Examples of times when the CodeRED system may be utilized include:
- West Nile Virus updates
- Drinking water contamination
- Emergency situations where rapid and accurate notification is essential for life safety
- Extended utility outages
- Hazmat emergencies
- Severe weather
- Terrorism related emergencies
The CodeRED Emergency Notification system is provided free of charge to all North Richland Hills Residents.
