Environmental Resources
The City of North Richland Hills is committed to protecting our natural resources, promoting environmentally friendly lifestyles and business practices, and encouraging everyone who lives in, works in and visits North Richland Hills to think green. By working together, we can make a cleaner, greener and better North Richland Hills for generations to come.

Did you know? When the NRH Centre opened in 2012 it was Tarrant County’s first LEED certified recreation center.

The responsibilities of the Environmental Resources Division include:

  • Educating the public about recycling, composting, clean air, water conservation and other earth-friendly issues
  • Hosting several events throughout the year to teach youth and adults the benefits of taking care of their environment
  • Working directly with the Keep North Richland Hills Beautiful Commission

The Environmental Resources staff is available to make presentations to civic and school groups. Topics include keeping NRH beautiful, composting, vericomposting, and recycling, Texas SmartScape, water conservation and household hazardous waste.

View the 2015 Texas Smartscape e-magazine to learn about native and adaptive plants, irrigation tips, an EcoScape contest and more.
