Death Certificates
Beginning May 1, 2015, the City Secretary's Office will no longer issue certified copies of birth and death records.  Members of the public may obtain certified copies of birth and death records at the county's Fort Worth location or at one of their many sub-courthouse locations. The closest being the Northeast Sub-Courthouse located at 645 Grapevine Highway, Hurst, TX 76054.

Obtaining Records
The Municipal Records Division of the City Secretary’s Office maintains vital statistics for all deaths that occurred within the City of North Richland Hills. Certified copies of a death certificate may only be obtained by an immediate family member of the deceased.

Applications
The application for a death certificate must be presented in person or sent in with proper photo identification and payment. Please submit completed applications to the Office of the City Secretary:

Alternatively, citizens may order a death certificate online from the Texas Department of State Health Services

Fee
The fees for certified copies are:  
  • $21 for the first certified copy 
  • $4 for each additional certified copy
